How long does Coloxyl take to work?     


This depends on the type of Coloxyl product you take, as different products have different active ingredients. 


For example, Coloxyl with Senna provides effective relief that starts to work in six to 12 hours. This product is a dual-action formula that can provide effective overnight relief.


Coloxyl 50mg and 120mg tablets are stool softeners that can provide relief from constipation over one to three days.  


Coloxyl Infant drops also provide gentle constipation relief to your child or infant over two to three days. 


However, if you're experiencing persistent constipation, seek advice from your doctor about introducing fibre supplements into your diet.


When should you not take Coloxyl? 


It’s recommended that you shouldn’t take Coloxyl with other medicines or liquid paraffin unless you’ve been advised by your doctor.  


You should also not take Coloxyl stool softener if the cap seal is broken.


What are the side effects of taking Coloxyl?  


Many people who use this medication do not have any serious side effects.  


However, you should immediately tell your health care provider if you have any serious side effects, including nausea, vomiting, muscle cramps, dizziness, or more.   


How long can I keep using Coloxyl? 


It’s not recommended that you use Coloxyl long-term as it can lead to dependence or further bowel problems.
